Aaron Ivery, Sr – Sunrise August 2 nd , 1951- Sunset May 5 th , 2024.
Aaron Ivery, Sr was the 4th of 7 children, born to the late Henry Otis Sr. and Novella Ivery in
Akron, Ohio.
Aaron Ivery, Sr., was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend whose
presence filled a room – and that presence will be greatly missed.
He attended and graduated from Garfield High School. After graduation, he was destined for a
life of hard work and dedication as a skilled pipe fitter.
Beyond his journey as a pipe fitter, Aaron’s true joy in life came from his role as a father. He
was a source of strength and support for his family, always being there and putting their needs
before his own. Aaron was an avid Cleveland Browns football fan and a fan of the game of
baseball, he even played on various teams throughout his life. Aaron Sr. loved life, he loved
family and he loved to DANCE!
Aaron is preceded in death by sister Cynthia Elaine Ivery, father Henry Otis Ivery Sr and
Nephews Henry Ivery III and Lamont Parker.
He will be deeply missed by his mother Novella Ivery; his children Shauna Ivery, Aaron Ivery Jr
(Sharnetta) , Jiro Ivery (Caryn), Doron Ivery and Taviere Alford; dear siblings- Henry Otis Ivery
II, Tracy R. Ivery , Lula Trice, Gleda Wright and Antonella Ivery; special brothers Oscar Williams
and Fred McCullough; grandchildren Jelani , Javon and Jiro Jr.; Mother of his children: Sandra
Shade & Toni Alford, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Though his physical presence may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who
knew and loved him.
Rest in peace dear Aaron. Your legacy of love, strength, and craftsmanship will continue to
inspire us all.
