Barbara J Thomas

Barbara Jean Thomas, 62, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on March 10, 2025. Barbara was born on March 28, 1962 in Lafayette, LA to her father L.G. Matthews Jr. and beloved mother Geraldine Thomas.

Barbara attended Morrow High School in Louisiana, relocated to Houston where she was a manager in the food industry for several years, and moved to Ohio in 1987 where she settled and created a life. She was a caregiver to all and a light to the life of every individual person she encountered. Barbara loved keeping her home tidy, being in the kitchen saying, “I’m about to hook it up darling,” sitting on the porch saying, “oh I’m just sitting here singing the sun up” and creating lasting memories for her family. Barbara was an awesome Mother to her children and such a special Mo Mo to her grandbabies.

Preceding her in death, Father, L. G. Matthews Jr., Mother, Geraldine Thomas, Uncles, James(SonnyBoy) and Gilbert(R.C.), Aunt, Mildred Fisher and Son, Curtis T. Wright.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory to her loving daughter, Christine S. Wright, Son, Corey J. Wright, sister Laura Thomas, her brothers, Junior (Papa) Matthews and Joseph Thomas, Grandchildren, Shiryia Brown, Shirnyia Brown, Ja’Cory Brown, Cori’Ahana Wright, Jazzael Wright, Terrielle Wright, Ja’Coby Brown, Kori Wright, Corey Curtis Wright all of Akron, Oh. Special Grandson D'Vontez Brown, Favorite Aunts, Mary Thomas(LA) and Betty Williams(TX), Special Auntie Margie Rumph, Special nieces, Candy Thomas(LA), Scharmaine Small and Ginell Dennis, Special Daughter-in-law, DiVon Brown and a host of other special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
