Byron Emil Jackson

Byron Jackson, a retired military veteran who bravely served His country, transitioned on Monday, April 17, 2023.

Byron was born at Akron City Hospital on April 1, 1957 to the late Crawford Lee Jackson, Sr., and Genetta Boyd Jackson.

He grew up with his four siblings, Crawford Lee Jackson, Jr., Gloria Ann McClurkin-Williams, Alvin Jackson and Patty (Mark) Harper. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Willie C. and Charlotte Moye Boyd, paternal grandparents Sarah Stephens and Isaac Jackson, and brothers-in-law Vaughn McClurkin Sr., and Michael Taylor.

Byron’s most treasured accomplishment was his service to His country.  He was honorable discharged after serving in the Desert Storm.

Byron cherished is relationship with his mother, Genetta Jackson, his siblings and his children.

Byron was blessed with a son and daughter, Emil Jackson and Camil Jenkins and step daughter Yvette S. Lloyd.  His legacy will continue through his seven grandchildren who are Emil Jackson Jr., Shakara Jackson, Imani Jenkins, Ava & Aja Jenkins, Skylar Jenkins and Judah Jenkins.  He leaves his Aunt Gwendolyn Spates, Aunt Beatrice Boyd, Uncle Sonny Boyd. Sister's in law Sharon Wilson, Gail Tucker, and Kathy Ward. Nephews, Anthony, Sammy, Ricky, Dale, Alvin Jackson, Jr., Vaughn, and Corey McClurkin. Nieces, La Cole, Katasha, Shuvon, Sanaya, Dion Marie McAllister, and a host of cousins.

Byron knew the Lord.  He will always be remembered as a brave and honorable man who selflessly served His country.  His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew Him.

Rest in Peace, Byron Emil Jackson.
