Carolyn (Nanna) Mahoney

 

Carolyn Mahoney transitioned to her heavenly home on July 21, 2023. She was born to the late Robert Evans and Margaret (Quives) Turner in Akron, Ohio on May 10, 1947.

She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Rev Harry and Clara Wells, and her brother and sister-in-
law, Kenneth and Rosalyn Evans.

Carolyn was married to James Mahoney and out of that marriage two loving children were born, James
and Makeba Mahoney.

Carolyn was employed for 25 years at Babcock and Wilcox working in the patent department. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Carolyn was known as one of the most stylish dressed people in her department. Carolyn also worked at IBM as a manager for 10 years. Carolyn enjoyed playing tennis and skating. She loved dancing and she was a member of the Master Dancers. Carolyn went to the VFW every Friday night to dance. Carolyn often went to plays and concerts and she was in several plays. Carolyn loved going to the casino with Matthew White, also know as “Daddy Matt”. She enjoyed cooking comfort food and even opened her own food truck called the Soul Food Caravan.

Carolyn is survived by brother Robert (Carolyn) Evans, sister Anita Evans-Rowland, God sister Janice Averett, son James (Kelly) Mahoney, daughter Makeba Mahoney, grandsons Mykal Mahoney, Austin Mahoney, Khalil Looney, and Jeffrey Sampson Jr, granddaughters Mariah Boone, Malika Higginbottom, Mikayla Taylor, and Jasmine Pennino, Great Grandchildren Kylie, Makayla, Khloe, Major, Malia, Micah, Luca, and Cruz.

Carolyn is survived by uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
