Cornelius E. Grant

Cornelius (Neal) Edison Grant (76) of Akron, Ohio has passed away peacefully at home, on January 22, 2024, with his wife Diane Asamoto-Grant by his side .  

He was born on March 13,1947 in North Carolina.  He was a loving and supportive Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Son-in-law, Brother-in-Law and Friend.  Special place in his heart has always been for Alexiahna, Rashaad, Adrianne,Tevin, John Jr, ZaKai, TJ and Jeanette.  He had a love for music, singing and dancing.  During his early years growing up in North Carolina and living in Ohio, his singing groups traveled to sing in different locations.  He could also be heard singing at home or anywhere he was because singing was within his heart.

He is survived by his Children with his wife Diane; son, John Sr (Emily) Grant and daughters, Nicole (Tevin) Grant-Strebel and Natalie Grant.  Survived by his children from previous marriages; sons Robert (Lynn) Grant, Tony (Trisha) Grant and Patrick (Sylvia) Grant and daughter Crystal Grant, and survived by his brothers David and Craig Grant.

Cornelius will be greatly missed by his many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.

Neal is preceeded in death by Viola Whiteside Grant (Mother), James Grant (Father), Janette Smith (Sister), John, James, Marvin, Drexel Grant (Brothers), 

Robert Christian Grant (Grandson) and Hazel Asamoto (Mother-in-law).
