Darnell Hammond

Darnell Pierre Hammond was born, January 13, 1985, to Darnell P. Blanks and Shirley Hammond-Blanks. Darnell “DJ” departed this earth August 19, 2022.

He attended Akron Public Schools, where he was a Buchtel High School graduate. After high school, he went on to work a few different jobs while always making time for his love for his children, music, rapping and making beats.

Darnell is preceded in death by his grandfather’s, Walter Blanks Sr., and Otis Hammond, Sr., uncles, Sherman, Larry, and Mack Blanks

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Darnell P. Blanks; loving mother, Shirley Hammond-Blanks (Butch); his children, son, D’Moni and daughter Nyla Hammond; mother of children, Nikki; sister, Shanika Hammond-Wiggins (Rodney); god sister, Tremaine Henderson; brother, Dierre Hammond; special brothers, Dontae Hammond, and Hadrian Wade; special niece, Rayven Wyatt;  niece, Ezaih Hammond; nephews, Reginald Wyatt and Javen Hammond and all of Akron, Oh; grandmother’s, Juanita Blanks and Ruthie Hammond; aunts, Gwen, Celeste, Cassandra and Marciea Hammond, Jackie (Kenny) Millender all of Akron, Ohio, Linda and Terry Blanks along with Stella Bass, all of Akron; uncles, Antwaine Hammond, Sr. and Otis Hammond, Jr., Walter (Ann) and Willie Blanks of Akron, OH, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends near and far.
