Debra “Debbie” Brown gained her heavenly wings April 18, 2023. She was born May 24, 1958 to Daisy and Henry Weems. Debbie graduated Akron Buchtel High School. She later started her career with Fedex in which she dedicated 32 years of devoted service.
Debbie was known to be sweet, kind, loving and tender-hearted. Her soft spoken, nurturing soul warmed the hearts of everyone who encountered her. Debbie attended Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. She was a women of strong faith and always encouraged loved ones to “Keep God Close”. Debbie was an exceptional mother of two and a committed wife to her loving husband. She will truly be missed by all.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Daisy Weems; Father in law, Dan Portis Sr.; brothers, Jerry Weems and Clyde “Buster” Weems Sr. She leaves behind many to cherish her treasured memory. Her lifetime partner and husband of 34 years, Ivory “Joe” Brown; son, Ivory Brown Jr. ; daughter, Amanda Brown; step daughter, Tamika Thompson (Stanley) of Tuscaloosa, AL. Her beloved sister, Sandra Weems of Akron, OH; brothers, Edward Weems Sr. of Houston, TX and Henry Weems Jr. of Akron, OH. Mother in law, Mamie Portis of Yantley, AL; special cousins, Della Swann, Cathy Ray, Brenda Harmon, Sharon Cheairs, Kenneth Henderson Sr., Clarence Henderson all of Akron and Augustus Henderson of Columbus, OH. Grandchildren, Madison and Maci Thompson of Tuscaloosa, AL. Debbie leaves behind a host of other loved family and close friends.
