Frances Caffee Johnson went to sleep on Wednesday March 26 2025. She was born October 22nd 1936 in Akron OH to parents Frank Caffee and Mabel Patrick. She passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones. Frances graduated in 1954, from East high school with honors. She became the first black May queen in Akron OH. Frances worked at Standard Oil, General tire, and retired from Goodyear tire and rubber as an administrative assistant. Her hobbies were crocheting, reading, and sewing, and hanging out with her breakfast club girls. She was always up on the latest fashions and always dressed from head to toe. Frances enjoyed sports, she was a big fan of Dennis Rodman and years later LeBron James never missing a game on TV. She also loved plants and had a green thumb. Frances is survived by her only living daughter, Apryl Edwards Garrett( John). She was preceded in death by Daughter Melodie Edwards, brothers Ned Patrick, Alan Patrick and Jane Patrick. Frances is survived by her only living daughter, Apryl Edwards Garrett( John). Granddaughter Tia Edwards, special son Ranardo Shingles, her 4 great grandchildren Glennae, Thomas, Fidel, and Farrell. Frances adored all of her great great grandchildren which she affectionately call them her “golden babies “ Handsome, Haviarre, Havani, Havaya Halaya Haniyah Harlem,Tymas,Tamya, Amor, Thomas Jay, and Island. They did no wrong in her eyes. Frances memories will also be cherished by Sister Gail Patrick, special nephew Kevin Edwards (Andrea) a host of friends and other relatives, her special friends who were more like daughters Michele Sommerville-Bostick and Raynell Finney and her girlfriend Geraldine Sharpe. I would like to give a special gratitude of thanks to my husband John Garrett, Nate Willis, Rhonda Joel, Kim Canfora and her special niece Shinita Patrick for all the support that you all have given me when I wasn’t able to myself.
