Fred J Carroll was born in Pinckard, Alabama on December 26,1943 to the late Lunnie and Willie Carroll.
Fred attended Garfield High School and Asset computer school. Fred was also a proud member of the United States Army as a sergeant, where he received several appreciation letters and a member of the American Legion.
He was a man of many talents, Anything that he put his mind to, he would excel. He has worked at Nasa, Sterling Jewelers, Federated Auto Parts, and BFG Goodrich.
Fred would make sure to have time for his grandkids and great grandchildren. He loved to help them learn to walk, even with his back issues he was always ready to give them a back ride. One other thing he managed to teach them was how to find their grandmothers hidden candy stash.
He was a great cook and made the best greens and lemon icing around.
Fred was proceeded in death by his parents Lunnie and Willie Carroll, the love and apple of his eye, Linda Carroll, sisters, Lucille (James) Burney, Chris Simon, Doris Rodgers, Jeanette Coley, and Willie Mae Hooks. Father and mother-in-law Malvin and Willie Alma Sommerville and Grandson Jordan Glass
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Saulsberry, Marketa ( Timothy) Fry, bonus daughter Charice Evans. Sons, Fred II, Brian (Penny), Steve (Marcella), Dejuan ( Porsha), and Derrick. Sister, Bernice (Charles)Mitchell. Sister in laws Deborah Kaiser, Pamela Sommerville, Karen(Anthony) Blackwell and brother in law Malvin Sommerville. He has 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. And host of nieces, nephews and friends.
