Gail Strickland

Gail D. Strickland (Davis), 57, of Akron Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. Gail was born in Hayneville, Alabama and raised in Akron Ohio before relocating to Dallas, Texas for 18 years. Gail graduated from Garfield High School and earned her Bachelors Degree in Business/E-Business from University of Phoenix. In her youth, Gail was Captain of Flag Girls for the Al Kaf Shrine Youth Group and a faithful member of C-Phi. She was master of the Excel spreadsheet, loved word puzzles, and an amazing cook. Gail also enjoyed playing cards, skating, bowling and shooting pool. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Gail was preceded in death by grandparents Annie and Jonas Davis and Matilda and James Harris and Aunt Maggie Starks.

Gail leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, LaToya Strickland, son, Kevin (Allyson) Strickland, and grandchildren, Makayla, Braylen, Aura, and Brandon Strickland. Her parents, Earl and Thelma Davis, and sisters, Anita Davis, Phyllis (Michael) Poulson, and brother, Michael Davis, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends including special childhood friends, Pamela Robertson and Alisa Sanders and special cousin, Willia Harris.

A memorial celebration will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Wilkinson Funeral Home 1158 S. Arlington Akron, Ohio 44306. Calling hours will be at 10 am with the memorial at 11 am. Pastor Paul Mays is eulogizing, and Pastor Linda Isaiah officiating.
