Gwendolyn Clisby

Gwendolyn C.(Beck) Clisby was born in Akron, Ohio July 24 1954 to parents; Patricia (Stanford) Lindsey and Sylvester T. (Ted) Lindsey. Gwen was raised in Youngstown, Ohio by Great- Grandparents, Ina Hattie and Wade Lacey where she attended Monroe Elementary School and Channey High School and excelled as a seamstress and learned how to make patterns where later in life she made custom clothing, wedding gowns as well as drapery.

After graduation she married Billy Beck and together they had two children Catrina Beck and Bill Beck Jr. She served as a social worker in several Ohio counties over a 30 year span, as well as an entrepreneur over multiple facets.

Gwen was preceded in death by husband, Leon (Silky) Clisby; parents, Patricia Stanford Benson and Sylvester T. (Ted) Lindsey; grandparents, Roxie Johnson, Bessie King; great-grandparents, Ina and Wade Lacey, Ada Stanford Davis; sister, Christine Cooper; brother, Nikita Benson; granddaughter, Michellé Chapman.

Survived by daughter, Catrina (Beck) Robinson; son, Bill (Natasha) Beck, stepmother, Susan Lindsey; siblings, Gary Stanford Lindsey, Deborah Lindsey Golding (Russell), Stephanie (James) Wimberly, Kim (Jessie) Dixon, Jason Lindsey, Michelle Bell, Naomi Wade, William Wade, Mary Lindsey, Chaunie McGrady, Ashanti Terrell; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and family members.
