June Ann Stephens

Elder June A. Stephens was born May 30th, 1947 to Edward & Fannie Grey in Newark, New Jersey.

She is survived by a loving husband James Stephens and four children: Lawrences, Steven, Charlene, and Tonya; 14 grandchildren, Sheena, Matthew, Vanessa, Tim, Charmella, Tiera, Airca, James, Tonya, Frank, Jazzmine, Kerrique, Lacee and Phyllis, and 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild to be born this year.

She is preceded in death by her two loving children Frances and Eric Murphy in eternal life with Jesus Christ.

June accepted Christ at an early age, embarked on missionary work spreading the gospel, and performed her duties as a Preacher for Christ at many churches (New Canaan, Greater Bethel Baptist, United Baptist, and Messiah Baptist). And upon death, she was the elder preacher at Standing in the Gap Kingdom Ministries under the tutelage of Pastor Georgia Stephens where Elder June preached for 46 years of her 76 years of life. June served with love and compassion until her health failed and she could no longer do so. She had such a loving spirit.

 June has left an indelible mark on many that knew and loved her. June was a great cook, great mother, great grandmother, and knew the word of God; all 66 books of the bible. She transitioned into heaven on July 30th, 2023 at home under the care of her loving husband and daughter Tonya Murphy(Tiny); the gatekeeper!
