Remembering Krystine LeBarbara Brown
Krystine LeBarbara Brown (Krissy) age 34- daughter of Mylene Mitchell and Pastor Melvin D. Brown was born on July 29, 1990, in Akron Ohio. Krissy made her transition to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized on April 6, 1997, at Mount Liberty Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio.
Krystine attended Akron Public Schools. She graduated from Firestone High School in 2008, where she excelled with high honors in excellence and was on the basketball team for two years. She participated in the Alpha Kappa Alphas, Little Miss Fashionetta in 2002. Krystine relocated to Columbus Ohio in 2017. She graduated from The Ohio State University on August 5th, 2018, with a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree in Human Ecology. Krystine was on a mission to achieve many goals. She established her corporation, Yenlem LLC in 2021 and was working diligently to expand her business, while working two jobs. She was employed by Macy’s Backstage (Columbus) as an Inventory Control and Accuracy Manager. She was also employed at Ohio Health Grant Medical Center (Columbus) as an Excellence Service Ambassador. Her goal in working and building her corporation was to build generational wealth for her family.
Krystine’s laughter and smile were infectious, sharing joy with everyone she chose to interact with LOL. Krissy believed in pampering herself. She loved to shop and tried to never miss a hair or nail appointment. Krystine was a very private person and wouldn’t mind telling you to mind your own business and stay out of hers. She concealed her gift of singing and dancing, which was only shared in times of fun.
At the age of 19, Krystine was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and struggled to maintain a healthy lifestyle. She was determined, however, and confident in overcoming each battle she faced. The message she leaves behind is to explore every aspect of diabetes and bring awareness to our community about the seriousness and effects of this disease.
