Marquita Bowick (August 2, 1990 - October 21, 2023)

Marquita Bowick, was born, August 2, 1990, in Akron, Ohio to Valerie (Renee) Bowick and the late Fred Bowick Jr. Marquita was a pillar of strength, love, and honesty for everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Marquita is preceded in death by her father, Fred Bowick Jr., her Great Grandmother Anna Barker, Grandmother Lucille Bowick, Grandfather Albert Jackson Sr., and  Aunt Debra Fann. Marquita is survived by her devoted mother, Valerie (Renee) Bowick; her beloved brothers, Marquette and Fred Bowick lll, loving grandparents, Annie and Julius Fann Jr. (Darlene), and Fred Bowick Sr. 

Marquita’s spirit was characterized by her nurturing, caring, and loving nature. She was not afraid to speak her truth and had a unique ability to be direct while maintaining a compassionate demeanor. The special bond Marquita shared with her brothers was like no other. She never missed an opportunity to express her love for her family,  whether it was saying goodbye or ending a phone call, "I love you" was always her parting words. Her loving spirit also extended to her nieces and nephews, as well as her uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Marquita Bowick, you will forever be in our hearts. "I will love you always, rest in Heaven, love your mom.”

A Celebration of Life will take place at Wilkinson Funeral Home on October 30, 2023 calling hours from 11am-12pm and Funeral will proceed from 12pm-1pm. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers and condolences be sent to Wilkinson Funeral Home.
