Mattie Robinson-Webb

Mattie L. Robinson - Webb passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Mattie was born in Wheatley, Alabama.  She was the third of six children born to Archie and Lula Robinson.  While she was born in Alabama, she was raised first in Ravenna, Ohio, then later on Akron’s West side.  She attended Perkins Junior High School, then Buchtel High School.  She at one time attended Bowhecker’s Business College in Ravenna, Ohio, and later attended Hamrick Truck Driving School and obtained her Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

Mattie pursued several professional endeavors over the years.  At one time she worked as a clerk at the Portage County Courthouse in Ravenna, Ohio.  She had a heart for caring for people and worked as a Home Health Care Aide for several years.  Mattie could drive anything.  While she lived in Texas, she was a school bus driver, a talent that she inherited the from her mother, Lula Robinson, who also worked as an Akron Metro bus driver for many years.  This is a talent that she also shared with the man that she would later marry, her soulmate, Willie Webb.  Not long after they married, they would work together as team delivery drivers, as well as limo drivers, criss-crossing the United States.  When health issues made it necessary for them to settle down and work close to home, Mattie became employed as a Case Manager & Job Coach for United Disability Services.  

Mattie loved to connect with people and found it easy to strike up a conversation with anyone.  She never met a stranger.  One could not be around her for very long before she began to talk about the goodness of The Lord.  

Mattie experienced many health struggles and endured those hardships throughout her life from a very young age.  But she did not allow those things to discourage her or keep her down.  She was blessed to have the boundless love and devotion of her wonderful husband, Willie Webb, who brought much laughter and joy to her heart.

Mattie was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Robinson, her father, Archie Robinson; her brother, Gregory Allyn Robinson; her sister, Amanda Rene Lucky, her brother, Larry Robinson, and her brother-in-law, Paul Lucky.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memories her faithful and devoted husband of 27 years, Willie Webb; her brother, William (Denise) Robinson; her sister, Dorthann Robinson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
