Michael Wootson

Michael Todd Wootson, Sunrise December 21, 1970, Sunset, January 20,2025.

Born to Janet Wootson, and Earl Wootson of Akron, Ohio. Michael was a profound child, often deep in thought, early as a child he was drawn to music, and the arts, influenced by his older siblings and cousins (Marquetta, Earl, Andre, Belita…). You see Michael was the baby of the bunch, and as such a lot of the chores and household duties fell upon others. His mom would send him to retrieve something, and sometime later would send one of his siblings to retrieve whatever item it was and Michael. Some would say that was a spark of genius. Nevertheless, music and laughter would be the soundtrack of Michael’s life. Michael amassed one of the most vast and eclectic music libraries in creation. Including heavy metal, gospel, classical to hip hop, and everything in between.

Big Mike, as some affectionately called him, studied as a classical bassist and played the bass guitar. He was a North High Viking, a Central State Marauder, a D.J. one of his names (Moo Moo Bay G, the Dookie Bass Technician!) He was a member of H Templeton Ministries C.O.G.I.C. He was proud to be a dad, and especially loved family, if you knew him, he was a loyal friend!

One could go on about the achievements and platitudes of life, but what’s the measure of a man… the love that is expressed at the end of his time, and during Michael’s time he made an impact on those he knew and loved!

Michael lived well, loved hard, and laughed loud!

Michael is preceded in death by his father Earl Wootson and his Grandson Julien Williams.

Michael T. Wootson leaves to cherish his memories his mother Janet Wootson, his daughters Ashley Williams, Chelsey (Josue’) Castillo, his sister Marquetta Wootson, his brothers Earl (Samantha) Wootson, Benjamin (Tanya) Wootson, Jarreau McClendon, his nieces Malaika Wootson, Breanna Wootson, his nephews Justin Wootson, Ben Wootson, Carter Wootson, his granddaughters Lilliana Williams, Genesis Castillo. His extended families the Bates, the Carters, the Littles, and a host of distant family and friends.
