On August 16, 2024, God called Richard to his eternal home. Richard Lewis Craig was born on November 9,1939 in Yantley, Alabama. The eldest son of Richard C. Craig and Thelma Craig. Richard was proceeded in death by his parents and four sisters: Dorothy Hawkins, Carliss Parker, Bonnie Daniels, Marie Tindel and four brothers: Baby Craig, Alfred Craig, Quinten Craig and Harvey Craig.
Richard completed his education at Choctaw County Training School. He attended Alabama A&M and proudly served in the United Stated Army. In 1960 Richard moved to Akron, Ohio where he began his long-term career as a race car tire designer at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. In 1966 Richard United in holy matrimony with Venosha Williams. There were five children Terrence, Baby Christopher, Keith(deceased), Tiffany and Pamela.
Richard was an extremely driven and ambitious entrepreneur. He owned several businesses. Pressure Porta Wash along with owning and operating several J & W Car Washes. He also expanded his career by buying and selling real estate. All of this was accomplished while thriving in his over 35 years of service at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
He was a strong-willed and hard working individual that also loved to hunt and fish whenever he had an opportunity. He was a lover of all sports. But more importantly he was the rock and strength of the Craig family. He was always known to be a wealth of knowledge to those who needed solid advice in any business matter.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife; Venosha, son Terrence (Pam) of Pinola, MS, Tiffany of Canton, OH, Pamela of Akron, OH; seven grandchildren: Jerome of Berlin, Germany, Kristina of Akron, OH, Branden of Canton, OH, Ricky of Akron, OH, Quinten of Akron, OH, Christopher of Akron, OH and George of Akron, OH; two sisters: Carol (Fredric) Norman of Wilmington, DE and Phyllis (Gerald) Taylor of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Pastor W. Calvin (Pastor Pat) Craig of Jacksonville, FL; one sister-in-law, Dicie Craig of Athens, AL; one brother-in-law Donald (Ann) Hawkins of Akron, OH. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and many loving relatives and friends.
