Robert Grier

Robert James Grier born September 22, 1963 sadly passed away on January 15, 2025. He was born in Akron Ohio. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1981-1983. He was truly one of a kind. Rob loved music and would always say " Y'all better join the band with me" Rob married Lisa in the summer of 1985 and they had 42 wonderful years together. You didn't see one and not the other one.

 Rob earned 4 degrees from the University Of Akron, Bachelors in Child and development , 2 associate degrees one in Criminal Justice and one in Technical Education, his Master was in Education with an emphasis in Sport Science. Rob was a long distance truck driver Lisa and him went some of everywhere in that truck. Rob refereed basketball at every level from tiny tots to high school for 20 years. He was a member of the Greater Akron Basketball Officials Association and the Disabled American Veteran. Rob retired from Akron Public Schools in 2010.

 He was preceded in death by grandparents Nellie and Walter Ivery, Uncles Hubert (Shorty), Millard, Horace, Jack and Billy. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Crystal (Lisa), only daughter Shalamar (Nikki). His Mother Mabel, his brothers Raymond Moore, Michael Lollar, Brothers from anther Lee Smith, Steven Foster, Ralph Stembridge. Grandkids Cimar (Cmar), Da' Marion (DaeDae) and Raekeiyaha (Ky). His favorite girl Jakie Tatum. Sisters Danette Thomas-Wallace, Krystal Moore, Karan Johnson and Sharita. His favorite Aunt Segretta Grier, Nephews Raymond III, Antoine, LaMonte, Jonte, Trae, Fredrick, Marsilles, Curtis, Demetrius, Denare. Neices Dezmonae, Tenesha, Makhaila, Carla, Marneita, Briana, Jasmine, Shayla, Dalana, Myleaha, Nataile, Darnella, Other Sons Corwin (Corey) Kenneth (Pugg), Chris. Rob has a host of sons, grandsons, nieces and nephews that Lisa said was too many to list "Yall know who yall is."  His In-Laws Audra Wilson, Johnny Simms, Kevin Wilson, Debra Andrews, Cynde Wilson. To know Robert is to love him, you cant help but love him because he gonna make you laugh till your sides hurt. Rest Well.
