Willie Collins

Mrs. Willie V. "Kitty" Collins, age 87, passed away February 2, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimers.

Kitty graduated from North High School in Akron, Ohio. She took college courses from the University of Akron in Blueprint Reading while working at Terex in Hudson, Ohio where she worked as an Overseas Correspondent. She also worked at RSVP Party store, where she was an assistant store manager and received the employee of the year award on two separate occasions. Kitty enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and fishing with her good friend Etta. Kitty had a heart of gold and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Collins, parents William and  Dorell Salter, and brother Thomas Salter. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Terrence (Mary) Collins, daughters Cheryl (Hogan) Obong, and Denita Renee (Robert) Crozier, granddaughters Michelle Smith, Temara Ford and Lauren Obong, great grandchildren Mitaya Collins, Avery Ford, Zoe and Evan Smith, her dear sister Ann Ford and a host of nieces, family members and close friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Wilkinson Funeral Home, 1158 South Arlington St. Akron, OH. 44306. Calling hours will be Friday, February 12th, 2021 at 11:30am with a private service for family and close friends directly following. The service will be live streamed online to allow family and friends to honor Kitty. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
